We are seeking a Payroll Analyst on a contract basis to support our Customer's business needs.
What You'll Do:
Assist with calculating, processing, and validating full cycle, pro-rated and manual payments, supplemental wages, garnishments, tax corrections, and adjustments for the bi-weekly payroll cycles for employees working across the United States
Perform cycle, quarter, and year closing audits, complete reconciliation and validate transactions before transmission, including preparing files for next-level review and approval
Investigate and respond to inquiries from employees and other internal or external sources regarding payroll-related needs
Responsible for preparing, validating, and delivering recurrent reports to internal and external partners timely
Assist with payroll and benefit reconciliations
Coordinate mail distribution for the Human Resources (HR) team
Perform other duties and assignments upon request
Must-Haves:
Comprehensive understanding of fundamental payroll tasks, such as paycheck calculations, taxation principles, preparing ledgers and journals, transfers, journal entries, and deposits
Knowledge of payroll and accounting procedures and concepts (Business Unit, General Ledger Journal Entries, Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) at minimum)
Have experience in handling transactions for various countries in multiple currencies
Understanding of payroll-related regulations (wage and hour laws, Internal Revenue Service (IRS) rules regarding supplemental wages, legal guidelines for wage garnishments, etc.)
Experience in Microsoft Suite, specifically Excel, and additionally has experience working in Payroll/HR systems and account reconciliation software
Education:
A Bachelor's degree is preferred
Hours & Location:
M-F, 40 hours/week. This role will be onsite at our Customer's Emeryville, CA location.
